Look at this picture of Mr Bharat and what do you notice?
He had Cancer Tongue, went through 6 cycles of chemotherapy and then underwent surgery to remove and reconstruct the tumour and now is in his journey towards recovery.
At present he lies in the ICU,amidst beeps of machines,on medications to help recover faster and keep him pain free with tubes connected to both sides of the neck and tracheostomy tube to help breathe.
But despite all the discomfort, pain and tubes, Bharat had a great attitude.Even on the first day after surgery, he smiled and gave a thumbs-up to the doctors and nurses who took care of him. Even the ICU doctors, who have seen countless patients in similar conditions, were moved by Bharat’s unwavering positivity.
Despite the odds stacked against him, he refused to let cancer define him & he faced it with courage and determination.
He understood that the journey to recovery was as much about the mind as it was about the body.
With each thumbs-up and smile, he showed that the human spirit is capable of triumphing over even the most daunting of obstacles.
Through his actions, Bharat taught those around him that attitude is everything in the battle against any illness.
At present patients need blessings from almighty, but I feel I am blessed everytime I meet him.
